This is a question that many of us singles ask ourselves on a regular basis. I used to feel like I was alone with this emotion until I realized that many of my friends felt the same way. Here is a comment I received from a guy about relationships. Ladies you will be surprised I was!! (I am going to post his comments in blue and my response in pink)
Millions things running thru my mind; about relationships and if I’ll ever find the girl that’s the closest to what I want.
What’s so crazy is that i stress about the same thing!! That is what keeps me single. I don’t want to waste so much time with one person only to find out what i thought we were building that i was the only one building it. ya know? And so many of my close friends are going through the same thing; so a mixture of fear and loneliness can be overwhelming. At least that is what i hear from men and women i know as well as I feel at times. I really think that finding something that fits an idea of what is wanted is an illusion. I think if and when you fall in love your concept of what you want changes.
well I can deal with not getting my way, but if I’m not getting my way I would at least want to know why, and have it make sense. I just don’t want to be did any old way
You sound as spoiled as me. . Reality is that sometimes we do not get our way and there is not a reason that will make sense to us.
The fact of feeling alone is real. That is why it is important to feel that void with real things the love of your family, children, and most importantly the love of Christ. I keep thoughts like this when I start feeling down about being single. It is also important to understand that it is okay to feel this way, God made us this way. It says so in Genesis 2:18
Then the Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him"
"Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things." Philippians 4:8
